The celebrations of the world’s cities on New Year’s Eve do not occur simultaneously, but rather start with the ticking of the clock from the far east to the far west, passing through Europe and the Middle East. In eastern and western cities, the customs of celebration differ from one city to another, but they agree in one formula, which is the celebration through fireworks displays. In many countries New Year's Eve is celebrated with evening social gatherings, where many people dance, eat, drink and watch fireworks. Some Christians frequent the church for midnight mass. The festivities generally continue at midnight on New Year's Day on January 1.
On this occasion, most countries of the world, including the United Arab Emirates, Egypt; Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Japan, Lebanon, Palestine, Turkey and China.
While the islands of Samoa and Kiritimas and a section of the island of Kiribati are the first to celebrate the New Year, the Hawaiian Islands and Baker Island are the last regions to celebrate this occasion[1]. Sydney is famous for being the first major city to welcome the New Year, and news of its celebrations and pictures of its fireworks are transmitted to other cities of the world that are also about to celebrate the end of a year and the
advent of a new year.
